Wildlife rehabilitators fondly (and sometimes cautiously) call them the wobblies — a nickname earned from the way young or nervous joeys tremble when startled. Even the sight of a mouse can set off the signature shake. But don’t be fooled — while most are mild-mannered, the dominant (alpha) male joeys are all tiny muscle and attitude, always ready to box first and ask questions never!
But there's more to them than wobbles and punches. Bennett’s wallabies help native plants regenerate, keep ecosystems in balance, and remind us that even the quiet ones (and the rowdy ones) play a vital role in the wild web of life.
